Today's Mascot of the Day is Crazy Crab. Crazy was a mascot for the San Francisco Giants. Crazy was known as the "Anti-Mascot." Fans were encouraged to boo him. Things got so bad with Crazy that the costume had to be reinforced with fiberglass to protect from the batteries, beer bottles and other debris that was thrown at the mascot during games. Players got into the action by throwing rosin bags and two players from the San Diego Padres tackled the mascot. Sadly Crazy only lasted one year. He has come back on special occasions.

Oh man, that crab looks hilarious. Do you have any video of the crab in action, or of people throwing batteries at him? I wish he was around AT&T Park when I was there a few months ago.
ReplyDeleteI think Crazy was in cahoots with that other San Francisco mascot.... WHAT DO YOU THINK!?!?!?!
